Thursday Thirteen

In homage to the month of November, I will be posting Thursday Thirteen’s this month of things I am thankful for.

These lists will delve deep into my thankful pot because I am not going to list the typical: husband, children, God, the internet, parents, friends, job, family, the internet, freedom, liberty, the internet, etc., so consider those already listed.

Without further ado:

  1. refrigeration
  2. Albertson’s meat department (I can’t imagine having to “get” the meat to that stage on my own. Eeeeewwww)
  3. washing machines
  4. computers
  5. the sound crunchy leaves make
  6. sunrises
  7. sunsets
  8. sunrises the next day (It would suck to be in darkness all the time)
  9. Birkenstocks
  10. gravity
  11. modern plumbing
  12. Louis Armstrong singing “Wonderful World”

  13. soft pajamas

  13. The meat market - what a great thing to be thankful for. I actually became vegetarian for a couple years because I felt like a hypocrite knowing I could never kill and prepare an animal to eat, but was okay buying it prepared at the store. That all ended when I became pregnant the first time and I started craving ribs. Just wanted to tear the meat off the bones with my teeth (I had never even tried ribs before that). I've never gone back to the meatless way of life, so I am also quite glad there are meat departments in grocery stores.

Refrigeration, washing machine, computer. I'm with ya.

In the hurricanes of aught four, we were without power for nine days. Twice.

A shower, air conditioning, clean clothes. I appreciate it all much, much more now.

    Good thing gravity isn't electic.

Great list. :) Those are all wonderful things. I'm thankful that Birkenstocks are less expensive here in Germany than back home in Canada, so I can stock up while we're here!

    Happy T13. :)

sunrises are high up on my list because I get to see them 5 mornings a week at work. Soft pajamas are up there too, because I only get to be at home TWO nights a week to wear mine, so I'm thankful that I have them at that time ;) I better say washing machines too, because I'm sure as heck not washing clothes by hand. Nope. No thanks.
